Following the great feedback from members who attended last year’s Christmas meal at The Olive Tree, we have booked the same venue for this year. As we did last year, we will have the entire first floor which holds up to 33 – which was perfect last year. If you didn’t attend last year, here is a link to the Olive Tree, it’s located in Nailsworth and has ample parking opposite.
Enclosed is the delicious Xmas menu (for any special dietary requirements like Vegan or Gluten Free, there will be additional items to choose from the main menu and we can make those requests nearer the time). For now – please could you let me know by email if you are able to attend and if you will be bringing a guest.
The entry pack is now out for the Shrewsbury Masters meet on Jan 6th. Hope to see you there.
Any queries let me know
Unfortunately we have had to cancel the Sunday morning session on 30th July.
Apologies to those who were planning to attend.
Congratulations to Club swimmers Kelly Young and Richard Percival who have just returned from Malaga after competing for Team GB in the World Transplant Games. Both came away with a number of gold medals with Kelly also breaking the world record in the 100m backstroke for her age-group.
What are your thoughts of Stratford Park Outdoor Pool?
Stroud District Council and a group of volunteer supporters have recently got together to investigate the future of Stratford Park Outdoor Pool and to see how it can be improved and restored to the beautiful attraction it was in the 1930s.
As part of this project, we want to hear the voices and opinions of everyone in the Stroud area and involve you in how the project develops. It is really simple to be involved, all you need to do is to complete the following survey:
This should take you no more than 10 minutes and there is the chance to win 3 months membership to Stratford Park Leisure Centre. This an exciting opportunity for you to have your say on what you think the future of the outdoor pool could be and how we could improve the it to make it more relevant and engaging to the people and communities in Stroud.
Built in 1937, the Stratford Park Lido (Outdoor Pool) comprises a swimming pool 50m x 18m fed by spring water, a parabolic diving board, art deco fountain, changing rooms and other out buildings. The Lido is owned by Stroud District Council and managed by SLM Leisure and located in Stratford Park adjacent to a Leisure Centre built in 1974. Stratford Park also incorporates a museum, arboretum, lake and open spaces and forms the Stratford Park Conservation Area.
Just to let you know that there will not be a session at Archway on Monday morning – unfortunately we have had to cancel it.
The Sunday morning session at Stratford Park however will go ahead as usual,
Any queries please let me know. Have a great weekend !
